Alvaro Morata Confirms Marriage Split to Alice Campello After Failed Reconciliation

Alvaro Morata Confirms Marriage to Alice Campello Is Over After Failed Reconciliation

Former Chelsea striker Álvaro Morata has opened up about his separation from wife Alice Campello, confirming that their marriage has officially come to an end after attempts to reconcile proved unsuccessful.

Morata, 33, and Campello, 30, first split shortly after Spain’s Euro 2024 triumph. In August of that year, the couple publicly announced they were going their separate ways, seven years after getting married.

Although they briefly rekindled their relationship last January, reports later emerged that the pair had begun living apart in Milan. The Como striker, currently on loan from AC Milan, has now confirmed that their efforts to rebuild the marriage did not succeed.

Reflecting on the situation during an interview with Alexia Rivas on the Spanish program Fiesta, Morata admitted that despite their love for each other, they struggled to connect.

“We are suffering because we are two people who love each other, but we don’t understand each other,” he said.

He also dismissed speculation suggesting that Campello was taking the separation harder than he was.

“Alice isn’t having a worse time than me because many people say she’s the one who’s hurting. I want to make it clear that we’re both hurting. It’s not that she’s bitter — we’re both hurting.”

Last month, Spanish magazine Hola reported that Morata had moved out of the family home he shared with Campello and their four children — twins Alessandro and Leonardo, as well as Edoardo and Bella.

Despite living separately, the pair are said to have maintained a cordial relationship for the sake of their children.

Amid the breakup, Spanish media reports alleged that Morata had an affair with sports management expert Elena Sirigu. However, the striker strongly denied the claims, describing the rumors as baseless and hurtful.

“No special friend or anything like that, I’m not interested in that right now,” he told Fiesta.

“The day I have a special friend, I’ll walk around with her normally, and you’ll see.

“People who claim there are third parties involved in a separation like this, especially with children involved, simply have no heart.”

Morata’s comments mark the first time he has publicly addressed the end of his marriage in detail, emphasizing that while the relationship has ended, mutual respect remains — particularly for the wellbeing of their children.
