Nigerian socialite Rahman Jago has confirmed that Grammy-winning singer Burna Boy has converted to Islam.
Speculation about the Afrobeats star’s religious beliefs began weeks ago after he revealed during a podcast that he embraced Islam “at some point” in his search for truth. The comment sparked widespread discussion, as Burna Boy was raised in a Christian background.
Fueling the conversation further, Rahman Jago recently shared a video on his X handle showing Burna Boy praising Allah alongside himself and other men in what appeared to be a bar setting. He captioned the post, “Allahu Akbar.”
Former presidential media aide Bashir Ahmad reposted the clip, noting that the singer appeared happy and praying that Allah makes his journey in Islam easy.
In the comment section, a fan asked whether Burna Boy had truly converted. Ahmad responded that some of the singer’s close associates had confirmed the conversion, although the artist himself had not made a formal announcement.
Rahman Jago later directly addressed the question, writing: “He converted. He is now a Muslim.”
