‘I’m a Christian but I use charms’ – Sunday Igboho

Ooni of Ife Vows to Intervene in Sunday Igboho’s Face-Off With Nigerian Government

Yoruba self-determination campaigner, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has revealed that he practices traditional spirituality alongside his Christian faith.

Igboho made the disclosure while addressing a council of traditional rulers, where he spoke openly about his religious background, upbringing, and spiritual beliefs.

The activist insisted that his use of charms does not contradict his Christian faith.

“I am a Christian, but I use charms. I do all religions. Even Islamic father, Muideen Ajayi Bello is a Muslim, I am a Christian. I was born in church, but I do charms. I was trained in the act.

“Everyone knows my father is a babalawo in Modakeke,” he said.

The Yoruba Nation agitator hails from Igboho in Oke-Ogun area of Oyo State. His family later relocated to Osun State, where he grew up under the tutelage of his father.

Igboho’s agitation for Yoruba self-determination and his campaign against violent Fulani herders in the South-West reportedly drew the ire of the Nigerian government.
