The Nigerian film industry is buzzing after actress Lizzy Gold issued a heated response to alleged gossip involving colleague Ekene Umenwa.
In a strongly worded outburst on social media, Lizzy slammed what she described as “cheap dirty gossip” about her personal life and hygiene. The controversy centers on claims that she allegedly has body odour and that her two children are from different men.
“Fabricating Lies to Tarnish My Name”
Clearly angered, Lizzy questioned how someone she referred to as “Jesus Baby” could be linked to what she described as deliberate lies.
“How can you call yourself JESUS BABY and all you do is sit down and fabricate huge lies just to tarnish your colleague’s image?” she wrote.
She categorically rejected the hygiene allegation.
“Body odour??? Everyone in Nollywood knows my personal hygiene is 100%. It’s not even something I need to prove to anyone,” she stated.
Addressing Claims About Her Children
Lizzy also addressed rumours concerning the paternity of her children.
“That my two kids are from different men?? How?? Are we friends? Do you know anything about me?” she asked.
She explained that she intentionally keeps her distance from certain colleagues to avoid unnecessary drama, expressing surprise that her name was dragged into the alleged gossip despite her efforts to maintain boundaries.
“This is exactly why I always maintain my space just to avoid your kind, yet you still found a way to involve my name,” she added.
Fiery Closing Remark
In a sharp closing statement, Lizzy criticized the use of the nickname “Jesus Baby,” telling the alleged source of the gossip to seek forgiveness.
“JESUS BABY my foot. You better ask God for forgiveness and mercy. You are such a terrible human being,” she wrote.
As of press time, Ekene Umenwa has not publicly responded to the allegations.
The exchange has intensified conversations on professionalism, rivalry, and reputation management within Nollywood, with fans closely watching for any further developments.
