Nollywood actress Onyii Alex has set social media abuzz after sharing a controversial message addressing insecurity in the South-East and political loyalty among Igbos.
In an Instagram story post, the actress questioned the loyalty and decisions of some Igbo elites, using a biblical reference to make her point.
“Are you sure ‘Judas’ wey sell Jesus no be Igbo man?? It’s funny how we Igbos can no longer travel safe to our villages. Even the rich now use private jets because road isn’t safe yet they are standing on a failed mandate… Oga Igbo as you dey sell your brother, the buyer no go still trust you.”
Her statement appeared to reference rising insecurity concerns in parts of the South-East, as well as dissatisfaction with political alignments among certain leaders.
The post immediately divided opinions online.
While some followers agreed with her frustration over safety concerns in the region, others criticized the use of tribal and biblical analogies, arguing that such rhetoric could deepen tensions rather than promote unity.
As conversations continue to unfold, one thing is certain — Onyinye Alex’s words have ignited another round of heated debate across Nigerian social media.
