Britney Spears threatens legal action against ex-bodyguard over alleged hacking

Britney Spears Vows Never To Perform in the U.S. Again

Pop star Britney Spears has reportedly taken legal steps against her former bodyguard, accusing him of unlawfully accessing her personal devices and accounts.

According to reports, Britney Spears’ lawyer issued a cease-and-desist letter in February to Thomas Bunbury, alleging that he hacked into her devices and Apple iCloud account without permission, in violation of state and federal laws.

The letter, obtained by TMZ, demanded that Bunbury stay away from her accounts, delete any copied data, and disclose whether any of the information had been shared with third parties. It also warned of possible police involvement and legal action if he failed to comply.

Sources indicated that Bunbury was dismissed in August last year for allegedly breaching a non-disclosure agreement by communicating with the press and fans. The alleged hacking is said to have occurred after his termination, with Spears reportedly being locked out of her accounts multiple times.

The development comes shortly after Britney Spears was arrested earlier this month in Ventura, California, on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol. Authorities reported that her vehicle was seen driving erratically before she was stopped and taken into custody.

She was released the following morning and is expected to appear in court on May 4.

In response to the incident, her manager described it as an unfortunate situation, adding that the singer intends to comply with legal processes and make necessary changes moving forward.

Spears, often referred to as the Princess of Pop, has since deactivated her Instagram account and was recently spotted in Malibu during her first public appearance following the arrest.
