El-Rufai Returned to ICPC Custody as Court Proceedings Continue in Kaduna

I don’t know if i will support Tinubu in 2027 – El-Rufai

Former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has been returned to the custody of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) following fresh court proceedings in Kaduna.

El-Rufai was granted a temporary release on March 27, 2026, to attend his mother’s burial. However, he was re-arraigned on Tuesday over a separate charge filed by the anti-corruption agency.

His bail application, previously adjourned to March 31, has yet to be heard.

On Tuesday, the former governor first appeared before the Kaduna State High Court, but proceedings could not continue due to the absence of the second defendant. The case was subsequently adjourned to April 10, 2026.

Following that session, El-Rufai was taken to the Federal High Court in Kaduna, where his bail application is expected to be heard.

The development marks a continuation of the legal challenges facing the former governor, as proceedings unfold across multiple courts.
