Nollywood actress Omowumi Dada has shared her excitement and anxiety ahead of the nationwide cinema release of EVI, a project where she also serves as an executive producer.
The film is scheduled to hit cinemas across Nigeria on March 27.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, Omowumi celebrated her role behind the scenes while expressing a mix of pride and nerves.
“Do you know your girl is an Executive Producer? Now you know!” she wrote.
“I’m very nervous but after the reception at the @filmoneng Exhibitors Showcase I can’t be more than proud of the work that has been done by the cast and crew in making this beautiful film.”
She also confirmed the cinema release and invited fans to support the project.
“Will I be seeing you in the cinemas?” she asked.
EVI is written and directed by Uyoyou Adia and produced in collaboration with Judith Audu Productions, Switch Visuals Productions, Signet Rings Productions, and NOI Productions.
The project also received support from organisations such as CcHUB, Africa No Filter, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
Distribution in Nigeria will be handled by FilmOne Entertainment.
The film follows the story of Evi-Oghene Donalds, a talented but proud music star whose life takes a dramatic turn after her record label collapses, forcing her to rebuild both her career and identity.
The cast features Osas Okonyon in the lead role, alongside Uzor Arukwe, Omowumi Dada, Ibrahim Suleiman, Waje Iruobe, Tomiwa Tegbe, and Femi Branch.
Blending music and drama, EVI explores themes of resilience, ambition, humility, and personal growth—offering a compelling look at the journey to success and the importance of support along the way.
