“I Couldn’t Pray, I Only Cried” — Kamo State Opens Up On Painful Disappointment That Made Him Withdraw For 3 Days

Kamo State Opens Up On Painful

Actor and content creator Kamo State has opened up about a recent personal disappointment that forced him to step away from public life for three days.

The skit maker shared an emotional post on Instagram on Thursday, revealing that the situation deeply affected him and led him into a period of isolation and reflection.

According to him, the painful experience strengthened his dependence on God rather than people.

“Recently, I experienced a profound disappointment. It was a turning point, solidifying my reliance on God rather than on humans. The pain was intense, leading me to isolate myself for three days, something completely out of character for me,” he wrote.

Kamo State explained that during the difficult moment, he struggled to pray and instead found comfort in listening to gospel songs by BBO and Grace Idowu.

“During the 3 days, I found solace in @officialbbo_ & @gracee_idowu songs. I couldn’t pray, only cry, questioning God about the nature of humanity, despite all the sacrifices,” he added.

Despite the heartbreak, the comedian said the period of reflection reminded him to trust God fully, quoting a biblical passage to emphasise his renewed faith.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5–6),” he wrote.

Kamo State also revealed that he has chosen to forgive the person who disappointed him, explaining that forgiveness is necessary for personal peace and blessings.

“I’ve also forgiven the person who disappointed me because God wants us to forgive so we can receive our own blessings too,” he said.

The actor added that the experience has given him renewed confidence and strength as he moves forward in his career and personal life.

“This experience has ignited a new confidence in myself, my dreams, and my journey. I am now fearless,” he wrote.

He also celebrated a milestone, revealing that his Instagram page recently crossed one million organic followers.

Born Akinyoola Ayoola, Kamo State rose to fame through viral comedy skits on social media before transitioning into Nollywood productions.

He has appeared in several films, including “Everybody Loves Jenifa” (2024), and is known for collaborations with other Nigerian comedians and actors.

Kamo State married his longtime partner Esther Olamide in December 2024, and the couple welcomed their first child in April 2025.

Over the years, he has built a strong online following through relatable comedy, creative storytelling, and engaging collaborations that resonate with a wide audience.
