Veteran Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has revealed that her strong personal values have influenced several major decisions in her career, including turning down opportunities that could have made her a billionaire.
The award-winning actress made the disclosure during an appearance on The Afropolitan Show, where she spoke about the choices she has faced throughout her decades-long career in the entertainment industry.
According to Omotola, she was offered deals in the past that promised huge financial rewards but required her to compromise her principles.
The mother of four explained that she deliberately walked away from such opportunities because they conflicted with her beliefs.
“If I wanted to be a billionaire I would have been it easily,” she said.
“I have been in situations where no one would have known and I would have taken things and compromised my stands, but I would say no, and I would walk away.”
The actress noted that these decisions were not easy, especially when the financial benefits were significant.
However, she said staying true to her values has given her fulfilment that cannot be measured by money.
Omotola added that some of the individuals who offered those deals are still observing her career today.
“Many times, and some of those people are even watching me today,” she said.
