Reality TV star Tacha has come to the defence of singer Tiwa Savage following criticism over her attendance at a state banquet in the United Kingdom.
Tiwa Savage was among notable guests invited to a dinner hosted by King Charles III at Windsor Castle, held in honour of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during his official visit.
Reacting to the backlash on social media, Tacha questioned the reasoning behind the criticism, suggesting that many would have accepted such an invitation without hesitation.
“For those of you dragging Tiwa Savage for attending a royal dinner, I genuinely want to understand the logic,” she wrote.
She added, “Be honest… if you were in her position, representing your country on that level, would you even DREAM of TURNING IT DOWN??”
The banquet formed part of Tinubu’s state visit to the UK, bringing together political leaders, diplomats, and cultural figures from both nations.
While some critics questioned Tiwa’s participation given Nigeria’s current socio-economic challenges, others viewed the invitation as recognition of her global influence and contributions to music.
The event also featured prominent British-Nigerian figures, including Maro Itoje, Ben Okri, and Eniola Aluko, highlighting the cultural ties between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
