Nollywood actor Austine Emmanuel has publicly criticised Seyi Tinubu, accusing him of using money to attract support for his father ahead of the 2027 elections.
In a video shared on Instagram, the actor urged Seyi to reflect more on legacy rather than focusing only on securing another term for President Bola Tinubu.
“Seyi Tinubu, all you are concerned about is how your dad will become the president again, but you are not bothered about the legacy he will leave behind,” he said.
Emmanuel argued that many of the people currently showing support are doing so for financial reasons, not genuine belief.
“People following you now will not follow you if money wasn’t involved. It’s all fake love,” he added.
According to him, strong leadership should naturally earn public support without the need for inducement.
“If President Tinubu did well, you don’t need to buy people with money before they support you,” he said.
The actor also commented on the recently appointed coordinators of the City Boy Movement, a support group linked to the president, alleging that some high-profile figures are not being sincere.
He mentioned socialites Obinna Iyiegbu and Pascal Okechukwu, claiming they are misleading Seyi Tinubu.
“When they get to their polling unit, they can never vote for your dad,” he said.
Emmanuel further criticised the country’s current state, pointing to economic hardship and insecurity as issues that should take priority over political campaigning.
His comments have sparked reactions online, with supporters and critics weighing in on the claims and the broader conversation about governance, public perception, and political mobilisation ahead of 2027.
