Multiple individuals, including rappers Pooh Shiesty and Big30, have reportedly been arrested in connection with an alleged kidnapping and robbery involving Gucci Mane at a recording studio in Dallas earlier this year.
Pooh Shiesty, whose real name is Lontrell D. Williams Jr., is said to be among nine suspects accused of orchestrating the incident, which allegedly took place on January 10 during what was presented as a business meeting.
According to United States Department of Justice officials, the meeting had been arranged under the guise of discussing recording contract terms with one of the victims.
“On January 10th of this year, three musical industry professionals traveled to Dallas for a scheduled business meeting,” U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas Ryan Raybould said during a press briefing. “Lontrell Williams Jr. arranged this meeting, purportedly to discuss the terms of his recording contract with one of his victims.”
Raybould added, “Once these three men were inside the recording studio, Williams Jr. and eight co-conspirators, several of whom traveled from Memphis, Tennessee, executed a coordinated armed takeover. As alleged, Williams Jr. produced an AK-style pistol and forced one of the victims to sign a release from the recording contract at gunpoint.”
Prosecutors allege that the group stole luxury items including Rolex watches, jewelry, cash, and other valuables during the incident.
Authorities also claim that Big30, whose real name is Rodney Wright Jr., helped prevent the victims from escaping by blocking the exit.
Investigators further noted that some of the suspects allegedly posted images of the stolen jewelry on social media shortly after the incident.
All nine defendants are facing charges of kidnapping and conspiracy to commit kidnapping, and could receive life sentences if convicted.
Pooh Shiesty had previously been released from federal prison in October 2025 after serving three years for firearms and drug-related offences, having originally been sentenced to 63 months. According to authorities, he was also on home confinement for a prior firearms conspiracy conviction at the time of the alleged crime.
