Governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf, has reacted to a viral slogan suggesting he would serve only one term in office.
Speaking in a video while addressing a group, Yusuf responded to the Hausa “Falle Daya” (One term) chant, stating that his first term would be under the New Nigeria Peoples Party, while a potential second term would be pursued under the All Progressives Congress.
He said: “Actually, it is only one term in the NNPP party. We will do the second term in the APC.
“As for the ADC party that they have returned to, it will not even do one term, not ever.”
The governor recently defected to the APC from the NNPP following a political rift involving his former ally, Rabiu Kwankwaso.
Announcing his move, Yusuf said the decision was made “in the best interest of the people of Kano state.”
Prior to his defection, he had resigned from the NNPP, citing “deepening internal crises” and “prolonged leadership disputes” within the party.
