Bayero University Kano has announced the death of Hajiya Hadiza Attahiru Jega, wife of former Vice-Chancellor of the institution and ex-Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Attahiru Jega.
The university disclosed the development in a statement shared on its official social media platform on Sunday.
While the cause of her death was not revealed, the institution extended its condolences to the bereaved family and offered prayers for the deceased.
It also announced that her Janazah prayer would be held immediately after the Zuhr prayer at the National Mosque Abujaon Sunday, April 5, 2026.
The university prayed for her soul, asking Allah to forgive her shortcomings and grant her eternal rest.
