Afrobeats star Ruger has revealed one career opportunity he still regrets missing, and it involves Nollywood powerhouse Funke Akindele.
Speaking during an interview with media personality VJ Adams, the singer shared how a missed direct message cost him a potential movie role in one of Funke Akindele’s productions, a moment he says still bothers him.
For an artist known for confidence and swagger, the admission came as a surprisingly candid moment.
According to Ruger, he had always noticed Funke’s support for his music and even intended to send her a message to thank her. But while checking his messages, he discovered something unexpected. The filmmaker had previously reached out privately to ask whether he would be interested in appearing in a film.

“That one still pains me,” he admitted.
