Damilola Ayinde Marshall, daughter of Fuji music icon K1 De Ultimate, has emerged as the All Progressives Congress candidate for Surulere Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Dami Marshal secured the APC ticket during the party’s primaries held in Lagos on Wednesday.
According to party sources, the exercise was largely consensus-driven, with several aspirants reportedly stepping down in her favour before the final process.
Following her emergence, the legal practitioner and Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture expressed appreciation to party leaders, delegates, and supporters for trusting her with the ticket.
In a statement shared on Instagram, she described the victory as one belonging to the people and democracy.
“The voice of the people has spoken, and it has spoken clearly,” she wrote.
“This triumph is not just a victory for one person; it is a victory for democracy, for progress, and for every constituent who believes in a brighter future for our communities.”
In another video shared on Thursday, Dami thanked APC stakeholders and fellow aspirants for supporting her emergence during the primaries.
“Thank you for making me the flag bearer of our great party, the APC, to represent my constituency, Surulere Constituency II, at the forthcoming general election in 2027,” she said.
She also pledged to focus on development-driven motions and people-oriented representation if elected to office.
“I promise to represent my community and my constituency diligently. I promise to move motions that will help in the development of my constituency and Lagos State at large,” she added.
The 31-year-old politician has built her public image around youth participation, female inclusion in governance, and grassroots political engagement.
Throughout her campaign, she frequently used the slogan “Youth Lokan,” positioning herself as part of a younger generation seeking stronger representation within Lagos politics.
Her emergence adds to the increasing number of young female politicians gaining visibility within the APC ahead of the 2027 elections as the party continues its primaries across Lagos State.
