Veteran Nollywood actor Ibrahim Chatta has sparked online conversations after sharing a blunt message to men about their responsibilities toward the women in their lives.
The actor spoke passionately about the need for men to financially and emotionally support their wives, mothers, sisters, and children rather than abandoning them to struggle alone.
According to Ibrahim Chatta, caring for women should never be treated as a burden or optional responsibility.
“As a man please give your wife money, give your mum money, give your sisters money and also spend on your children,” he stated.
The actor also condemned the habit of insulting or belittling women, particularly men who use derogatory labels against them.
“It’s only a foolish man that calls women Almajeri,” he said.
“No women are meant not to be taken care of.”
His comments immediately generated reactions online, with many social media users praising the actor for speaking openly about responsibility, family values, and respect for women.
Ibrahim Chatta further stressed that supporting women does not reduce a man’s success or financial stability.
Instead, he argued that generosity and care toward women often bring blessings in return.
“When you bless a woman always, you will never lack money, I swear,” he added.
The statement has since continued circulating across social media platforms, especially among fans who described the actor’s message as both traditional and realistic within African family structures.
Known for his outspoken personality and strong cultural views, Ibrahim Chatta has repeatedly shared opinions on relationships, family responsibilities, and societal values throughout his career.
Beyond acting, the Yoruba movie star remains one of Nollywood’s most respected indigenous actors, with decades of influence in the Nigerian film industry.
