TikToker Tunde Perry has appealed to the Nigeria Police Force to release popular streamer Peller, following reports of his detention after a recent confrontation with police officers.
Peller’s reported arrest followed an incident in which he was allegedly found driving a vehicle without a valid registration number plate.
The incident comes days after a video circulated online showing Peller arguing with police officers during a traffic stop.
According to reports, the confrontation stemmed from allegations that the vehicle he was driving lacked a registration number plate, an offence punishable under Nigerian traffic regulations.
Reacting to the situation, Tunde Perry revealed that Peller’s management team has been making efforts to secure his release.
He also commended Tekunbi, whom he described as one of the few people Peller listens to.
“Peller management hasn’t slept, they’ve been going up & down to get him out. Tekunbi, God bless you because Peller doesn’t listen to anyone except you.”
Perry acknowledged that the police have the authority to arrest motorists who fail to comply with vehicle registration requirements.
However, he appealed to the Inspector-General of Police to show leniency, describing Peller as a young man who made a mistake.
“After God is Government. IG of Police said if you don’t have plate number you should be arrested. Please IG, forgive Peller and release him. He is a small boy.”
He also advised young people against confronting law enforcement officers during routine stops.
“Don’t drag with police. Something you’ll settle in 10 minutes, if you drag it with police it’ll take 10 days or one year to solve.”
As of the time of writing, the Nigeria Police Force has not issued an official statement confirming the circumstances surrounding Peller’s reported detention or whether any formal charges have been filed.
The incident has continued to generate reactions on social media, with supporters calling for his release. In contrast, others have urged motorists to comply with traffic regulations and cooperate with law enforcement officers.
