EPL: I have made many mistakes at Chelsea – Todd Boehly

Todd Boehly, the co-owner of English Football Club, Chelsea has confessed he made “mistakes” during his first 12 months at the Premier League club.

The American billionaire took over after Roman Abramovich’s 19-year reign ended following the outbreak of Ukraine/Russia war in February 2022.

Boehly then went on an unprecedented spending spree on new players and sacked two managers.

The businessman will end his first full campaign in English football without silverware, with the team unable to secure European football for next season.

The optimism and high hopes for a great future that Boehly takeover will herald at Stamford Bridge with his ambitious spending has since been replaced by frustration among supporters.

Things aggravated during the 2-1 defeat to Brighton at home last weekend, where he was confronted by several angry fans in the stands.

According to Bloomberg, Boehly confessed he had been far from faultless while speaking to, among others, Goldman Sachs Group Inc and investment banker Anthony Gutman during a private event at Stamford Bridge on Thursday at which he spelled out his long-term vision for the club.
