Vee Iye, a well-known media personality and former Big Brother Niger contestant, has recently aroused debate with her candid opinions on the Lagos entrepreneurship environment.
Vee Iye took to Twitter to express her concerns about how the city’s economic circumstances are shaping the city’s business sector.
In her tweet, Vee Iye opined that Lagos’ difficult economy is forcing “mentally unstable” folks into business.
She lamented the lack of genuine passion, knowledge, or abilities of many new business owners, pointing out that their major focus is purely on monetary gain. According to Vee Iye, this trend is leading in businesses run by inexperienced persons, both at the ownership and personnel levels. Her final remark, “only God will help us in Nigeria,” emphasized her concern about this new commercial dynamic.
Vee Iye’s statement reflects the disrespect for customer-centric procedures among many aspiring Nigerian firms.
The economy has forced a lot of mad people into becoming entrepreneurs. Now we have a bunch of idiots starting a business and hiring other idiots as staff. No passion, knowledge or skill. Just money on their minds. God help us.
