Alicia Keys has shared the secret behind her enduring marriage with Swizz Beatz.
According to the musical sensation, open and effective communication is the foundation of their successful relationship.
“I spent a lot of relationships not really saying how I actually felt, and they fell apart,” the 43-year-old told People in an interview published on Thursday. “If you can’t speak your truth, then you can’t be yourself. That’s a key! I don’t worry about speaking to him, even about the hard things, and I think he feels the same. I know that I can tell him what I really feel.”
Alicia Keys and Swizz, whose real name is Kasseem Dean, exchanged vows in 2010 and are proud parents of two children, Egypt (13) and Genesis (9).
“My husband – every second, it’s noise. But that’s him, and I love it,” the Girl on Fire hitmaker shared. “He is the best DJ in the universe, and we walk down the street, and it’s a party. It’s amazing.”
“We have a lot fun. We laugh a lot,” she added. “He’s really silly, I’m really silly.”
Recently, Swizz, aged 45, stood up for Alicia after she faced criticism for her performance alongside Usher at the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show.
“Tonight’s performance was nothing but amazing with 2 amazing Giants ! Congrats @usher and my love @aliciakeys that song is a classic,” he wrote on Instagram on Monday. “We don’t do negative vibes on this side we make history.”
Alicia made a guest appearance during Usher’s Super Bowl halftime show performance. The R&B singers performed their 2004 hit My Boo.
