My father died because we couldn’t pay for hospital bed – Odumodublvck shares

Odumodublvck tells celebrities who are loved by all

Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck, born Tochukwu Ojogwu, recently opened up about his challenging journey as an artist, recalling the heartbreaking loss of his father due to lack of funds for a hospital bed.

He shared that his family, struggling with poverty at the time, had no choice but to bring his father home to pass away.

The singer of the hit song ‘Declan Rice’ emphasized that his difficult past experiences have shaped his belief that no artist directly paved the way for his success in the music industry.

While he acknowledges being inspired by fellow rappers, he maintains that he was not fortunate enough to benefit from any direct mentorship.

On his X handle on Wednesday, Odumodublvck wrote: “When my father died my family was poor. We could not pay hospital bed space of 70k [N70,000]. We had to take him home.

“Coming to tell me about paving the way for me? That’s God, brother. No use your ego counter reason my reality, bros.

“I agree say you inspire me. But bros, you pave the way for nobody. Nobody!

“I hate when n*ggas try to play God.”

These comments from Odumodublvck come in response to claims made by veteran singer Eedris Abdulkareem, who stated in a podcast interview that he paved the way for top Nigerian artists like Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Davido.
