Afro-pop artist Oxlade, real name Ikuforiji Olaitan, recently shared that he lost endorsement deals totaling over N400 million after a sex tape of him was leaked.
The intimate video, recorded with an unidentified partner, was released on Snapchat in February 2022.
During an interview on the Afrobeats Intelligence Podcast, Oxlade revealed that he had been blackmailed with the video prior to its public unveiling.
Despite the scandal affecting his family, mental well-being, and brand, Oxlade expressed a sense of relief that the video was finally made public, as it put an end to the ongoing extortion attempts using the footage.
