Allen Onyema, CEO of Air Peace, underlines the Naira’s strength in a talk in which he compares the financial situation of someone making N200K to someone earning £2000 in the UK.
During his presentation on TVC, Onyema emphasized economic issues and the Naira’s strength. He admitted that a major share of the economic problems are “artificial”.
Allen Onyema said that a Nigerian with a monthly income of 200,000 Naira may afford to hire a cleaner, a driver, and other domestic help.
He advised Nigerians not to devalue the country, expressing his conviction that the Naira is worth more than is usually recognized compared to foreign currencies.
In his words, “Go to London, if you earn two thousand pounds a month in London, you’re a pauper. What two thousand pounds can afford you is like two thousand Naira. The person earning two hundred thousand Naira in Nigeria is better.”
