Manchester United have revealed that Raphael Varane will depart the club after the season.
The Premier League confirmed this in a statement on Tuesday. Varane signed with United from Real Madrid in the summer of 2021. The Frenchman’s contract at Old Trafford expires at the end of June.
One of the game’s most accomplished defenders, the World Cup winner helped United win the Carabao Cup last season by creating a powerful defensive pairing with Lisandro Martinez.
Several injuries have also plagued him during his time at the club, and he is presently striving to be fit for United’s FA Cup final against Manchester City on May 25.
The 31-year-old has made 93 appearances in his three seasons in Manchester, starting 24 matches in all competitions this term.
