Ashraf Sanusi, the son of Khalifa Muhammad Sanusi II, has voiced his enthusiasm on social media over his father’s impending return to the throne as Emir of Kano.
On Thursday, the Kano State House of Assembly repealed the ordinance that established five emirates in the state, paving the way for Sanusi’s return.
Following Sanusi’s deposition on March 9, 2020, ex-governor Abdullahi Ganduje established the emirates and named emirs.
The five emirates established were Kano, Bichi, Rano, Gaya, and Karaye.
However, Sanusi’s return has become imminent, with the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPC) controlling Kano’s executive branch and legislature after defeating the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the polls last year.
The emir’s son Ashraf wrote on Thursday on X, “HH Khalifa Muhammad Sanusi II is back!”
