On Tuesday, the Senate approved the National Anthem Bill 2024 to bring back the old national anthem, “Nigeria, we hail thee”.
The bill swiftly passed through first and second readings and is now awaiting President Bola Tinubu’s assent to become law.
The House of Representatives also passed the bill last Thursday.
