The selection of Longe aligns with the IGP’s strategic objective to promote gender inclusivity and parity across all spheres of appointments and activities within the law enforcement agency.

Yetunde Longe commenced her career as a Cadet ASP on the 3rd of March, 1990, and has since engaged in specialized training programs such as the advanced detective course, intermediate command course at Police Staff College Jos, and the protection of civilians course in Italy.

Throughout her tenure, Yetunde Longe has occupied various significant roles including administrative officer, crime officer, Lagos commandant, assistant commissioner of police overseeing corporate investment at the NPF Cooperative, Lagos area commander, deputy commissioner of police at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Bauchi and Lagos, and DCP admin at Zone 2 in Lagos.
