Isabella Idibia, the oldest daughter of famed artist 2face Idibia and renowned actress Annie Idibia, openly expressed her experience of receiving disparaging remarks about her body.
In a touching TikTok video, the 15-year-old discussed her experiences with body-shaming.
She described how being branded as “plus-size” and receiving nasty comments from friends and strangers affected her. Isabella admitted to comparing herself to slimmer girls, which made her feel inferior.
She also discussed her struggle with overwhelming food cravings, although food did not provide consolation. Isabella described receiving unsolicited suggestions to go to the gym, which made her feel even worse.
She even went to great lengths to hide certain parts of her body to protect herself from body-shaming.
Despite her pain, Isabella offered a profound insight that one’s perception of oneself is connected to one’s mental state, regardless of size.
She emphasized that self-acceptance goes beyond physical changes and highlighted the damaging impact of body-shaming on mental well-being.
