Yvonne Jegede, a Nollywood actress and entertainer, recently discussed the breakup of her marriage in an open interview with popular OAP Nedu Wazobia for his podcast.
Jegede addressed several circumstances that contributed to her breakup with Olakunle Fawole, offering an open and unedited account of their tumultuous relationship.
Yvonne claimed that her ex-husband was eight years older than her and had been offended by her honest remarks since the beginning of their marriage.
Citing one example, she noted that whenever she called him “crazy” during their conversations, he took it as disrespect, even though they had been together for a long time before marrying.
Jegede was taken aback by his reactions, figuring he was used to her openness.
When Nedu inquired if perceived disrespect was the main reason for their divorce, Jegede firmly said no.
She said that while it played a role, it was simply one of several factors contributing to their marriage’s end. There were several fundamental issues at play.
Yvonne Jegede revealed that their relationship’s financial imbalance was a significant problem. She indicated she was the primary earner and shouldered most of the financial burden.
This disparity affected their marriage, as she felt pressured to provide for their family nearly exclusively on her own.
Yvonne went on to say that she takes great satisfaction in caring for her baby on her own, as if no one else is there to help, but she recognizes how tough this job is.
