Nigerian govt declares Tuesday, Wednesday public holidays for Eid-il-Fitr

The Federal Government has declared Wednesday, June 12, as a public holiday in honor of the 2024 Democracy Day celebration.

This announcement was made by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Aishetu Ndayako, in Abuja on Tuesday.

Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, conveyed the government’s well-wishes to Nigerians on this occasion. He emphasized the importance of reflecting on the sacrifices of the country’s founding fathers and maintaining unity.

Tunji-Ojo called for a more secure, peaceful, and united Nigeria for the benefit of all citizens.

He encouraged Nigerians to uphold democratic principles and support President Bola Tinubu’s efforts to revitalize the economy and improve security.

Tunji-Ojo called on Nigerians and friends of Nigeria to appreciate the progress that had been made and look forward to a better future for Nigeria’s Democracy.

He wished Nigerians a happy democracy day celebration.
