She commented
“Na me go still marry mayor”
Teni is from Ekiti State and is named Teniola Apata (born December 23, 1995); she was the ninth of Mr and Mrs Apata’s ten children born in Lagos. Before he was murdered in 1995, when Teni was just 2 years old, her father had served as a retired Brigadier General.
Teni attended Apata Memorial High School, a Lagos institution run by her late father. After finishing secondary school, she relocated to the USA to pursue a Business Administration degree at American Intercontinental University. She is Niniola’s younger sister, a well-known singer.
She draws inspiration from everything around her, thus her music is diverse. She enjoys Wasiu Ayinde’s music, and her songs reflect this.
Teni considers music to be spiritual because she thinks that via it, she may alter people’s perceptions.
When she was younger, she played the drums in the school band. Because she and her brothers weren’t permitted to leave the house as children, they would stay in the hallway and sing.
Teniola liked basketball so much that if she weren’t a singer, she most certainly would have become one. She also has a passion for technology, business, and charity. Teni credits her parents, especially her mother, for her confidence.
Career
Teni’s debut song, Amen, was made available by the Shizzi Magic Fingers Record Label. Teni signed a contract with Dr. Dolor Entertainment in 2017 and left Shizzi Magic Fingers. In September of that year, she released the single “Fargin.” After she released Askamaya, Case, and Uyo Meyo, Teni made a breakthrough in the Nigerian music scene.
