On Thursday, President Bola Tinubu authorized a minimum salary of N70,000 for Nigerian workers.
The president, however, committed to examine the national minimum wage law every three years.
Tinubu also promised to find measures to help the private sector and sub-nationals pay the minimum wage.
This was announced in a statement by the Presidency’s Spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga.
According to Onanuga, Tinubu disclosed the choices during a meeting with TUC and NLC leaders in Abuja on Thursday.
This was the parties’ second meeting in seven days.
