Tinubu sends N70,000 minimum wage bill to NASS

BREAKING: National Assembly passes student loan bill

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu submitted the Minimum Wage bill to the House of Representatives for approval and implementation.

The bill includes provisions for a new national minimum wage and outlines the legal framework for its enforcement.

In his letter read on the House floor, Tinubu urged swift passage of the bill to ensure prompt benefits for Nigerian workers.

Additionally, he requested amendments to the Nigeria Police Act in line with the constitution.

Tinubu’s approval of a N70,000 minimum wage followed negotiations between the government and labour representatives.

Lawmakers are now tasked with formalizing the N70,000 minimum wage into law.
