SZA, also known as Solána Rowe, has decided to take a break from live performances in the near future.
In an announcement made on X, the singer-songwriter revealed that she will not be taking on any gigs “for a while”.
This news comes after her recent performance at the Osheaga festival in Montreal, Canada, as well as other festivals in the U.S. and Europe where she headlined at Glastonbury in June.
“Yesterday was my last show for a while. Finally bout to get my life together thank u God (sic),” the Good Days star wrote.
It is unclear whether SZA plans to work on new music during her hiatus, but she has previously discussed her creative process and her tendency to explore the “hidden aspects” of her life through her music.
“There’s mad aspects to my life,” the 34-year-old explained to Variety in December. “But people don’t really know that, because all I sing about are the hidden aspects that I think are more interesting. Honestly, I could write about jet-skiing with my friends, but I don’t want to make a song about that, and I don’t want to hear a song about it either.”
