SZA has opened up about her reaction to Nicki Minaj’s recent remarks about her, describing them as “a little strange.”
Back in July, Nicki accused SZA’s manager, Terrence “Punch” Henderson, of bullying her in a post shared on X. SZA, whose real name is Solána Rowe, briefly engaged with the rapper online but soon exited the platform after the exchange turned hostile.
In her interview for the December 2025 issue of GQ magazine, the Saturn hitmaker expressed confusion about why the 42-year-old rapper had targeted her.
“I don’t know her,” SZA explained. “We have no connection to each other. There’s no backstory. Like, there was no through-line narrative.”
The singer further clarified that there’s no professional relationship between them, adding, “I don’t know where it came from. That’s not even my place to correct a narrative that I don’t got s**t to do with. It was a little strange. It was very like, ‘Why?’ But also, you know, ‘I guess.’”
As of now, representatives for Nicki Minaj have not issued a response.
Elsewhere in the conversation, SZA also reflected on being pulled into the public feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake, noting that she had no intention of getting involved.
“It was something between two grown-as men, so why would I insert myself between something between two grown-as men, you know?” she said. “And I feel like that’s how everybody felt – with the exception of people who didn’t feel that way. I didn’t really have any stake, per se.”
SZA’s comments highlight her desire to remain focused on her music rather than online drama, maintaining her calm amid the chaos of celebrity disputes
