Beauty entrepreneur and influencer Diiadem has responded to Nollywood actress Biola Adebayo after the actress appeared to laugh off a childhood incident Diiadem recently recounted online.
The exchange began when Diiadem commented under a post discussing Biola Adebayo, recalling an encounter from years ago when she was still a child accompanying her stepmother to a movie set.
According to Diiadem, Biola Adebayo was also present on the set and allegedly asked her to clean her shoes. She clarified that the issue was never about the act itself, but rather the condescending tone in which the instruction was given — something that left a lasting impression on her even as a child.
“It wasn’t about cleaning the shoes; it was the tone and the way she spoke to me. I was a child, but the memory stuck,” Diiadem explained.
Biola Adebayo later reacted to the story in the comments section with several laughing emojis, suggesting that she saw the situation as harmless. She also added that she often said things like that to people jokingly back in the day.
However, Diiadem took to social media again to express that the memory had stayed with her for years, and that mentioning it publicly was a way to finally gain closure.
“Every time I saw her on screen, that memory replayed in my head. Talking about it gave me closure,” she said, adding that “it costs nothing to be kind.”
Diiadem also noted that if she were in Biola’s shoes, she would have reached out privately to acknowledge the incident and apologize, not because the act was major, but because taking accountability is important.
