EPL: Why I am yet to sack Ten Hag – Man Utd co-owner, Jim Ratcliffe

Man Utd moves to sack staff as Sir Ratcliffe reduces cutting cost measures

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, co-owner of Manchester United, has explained his choice to retain manager Erik ten Hag despite pressure to dismiss him.

Many were anticipating Ten Hag’s departure following the team’s disappointing season, finishing in eighth place with a negative goal difference for the first time in over three decades.

Despite this, Ten Hag led the team to a 2-1 victory over Manchester City in the FA Cup final, securing a spot in the Europa League.

This success ultimately led Ratcliffe to extend Ten Hag’s contract until 2026.

In an interview with The Times, Ratcliffe: “Erik is a good guy and has been doing his best, but doing too much.

“He was trying to sort out the squad and fix leaks in the roof at the same time.”
