The 55-year-old individual submitted the requisite documentation on Tuesday to the Los Angeles Superior Court, as reported by TMZ, precisely two years subsequent to their opulent wedding ceremony that took place in Georgia.
She filed “pro per,” indicating that she represented herself in the legal process without the assistance of legal counsel.
The date of separation has been recorded as 26 April 2024.
The legal documents do not specify the existence of a prenuptial agreement; however, sources have informed TMZ that no such agreement exists, implying that all financial assets accrued during the marriage are classified as “community property.”
The filings indicate that Jennifer Lopez has relinquished her right to spousal support and is requesting that the court similarly deny Ben any such support.
This legal action follows months of speculation regarding the dissolution of their marriage. The couple has been residing apart and has celebrated significant milestones, including their birthdays and wedding anniversary, in isolation from one another.
