2027 Election: LP ticket not reserved for Peter Obi – Julius Abure

Police arrest LP National Chairman, Julius Abure in Edo State

Julius Abure, the leader of the Labour Party’s factional leadership, has stated that all tickets for the 2027 general election are available to qualified Nigerians.

This announcement was made after a National Executive Committee meeting in Abuja on Monday.

“NEC in session also reviewed the decision of the National Convention to reserve its Presidential and Governorship tickets for Peter Gregory Obi and Alex Otti respectively,” a viral communique.

“Consequently, all tickets of the party from the Presidency to the House of Assemblies are open to all qualified Nigerians,” he declared.

Abure’s declaration comes in the midst of controversy surrounding a recent stakeholders meeting called by Governor Alex Otti of Abia State and 2023 presidential candidate Peter Obi. At this meeting, former minister of finance Nenadi Usman was appointed as the party’s caretaker chairperson.
