Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has intimated that Marcus Rashford’s recent troubles on the pitch could be attributed to his lifestyle.
Ten Hag stated in a recent interview, as reported by Fabrizio Romano, “I believe he always knew, and every athlete understands, how important lifestyle is.
“When your lifestyle is not right, you can’t perform,” the Dutch manager added.
Rashford, who scored twice in United’s 7-0 victory against Barnsley earlier Tuesday, had struggled in recent games.
However, his impressive performance in the Carabao Cup, where Alejandro Garnacho and Christian Eriksen both scored braces, has raised hopes for his return to form.
“You don’t get the right levels when you don’t have a good and disciplined life away from Carrington,” Ten Hag alluded. With Rashford’s contribution in the Cup which guarantees them a fourth round place, Ten Hag remains hopeful of further improvements.
