Popular Nigerian singer, Simisola Kosoko, more commonly recognized as Simi, has disclosed on camera the hilarious manner in which her spouse, Adekunle Gold, proposed to her.
The “Duduke” singer, who recently graced the “OFFTHETOP” show alongside VJ Adams, revealed that Adekunle Gold presented his proposal a mere ten days prior to her thirtieth birthday, an occurrence that took her by significant surprise, notwithstanding her reputation for being difficult to astonish.
In her discourse regarding the events of that momentous day, Simi recounted that she and Adekunle Gold had previously participated in a celebration honoring a friend’s mother, which resulted in her being exquisitely attired in a charming gown and elevated heels, in stark contrast to her customary attire of t-shirts and jeans.
Nonetheless, upon their return to their residence, she felt fatigued; however, her husband, Adekunle Gold, informed her that his uncle was hosting a dinner at the Eko Hotel and insisted upon her companionship.
Simi articulated that she could not overlook the invitation, underscoring that it represented a valuable opportunity to familiarize herself with her husband’s family, all the while oblivious to Adekunle Gold’s true intentions of proposing to her.
She remarked that she is an individual who seldom applies makeup, yet on that fateful day, she did so owing to their prior engagement, which Adekunle Gold utilized to orchestrate his proposal.
Upon their arrival at the hotel, Adekunle Gold advised her to don her heels, as she had changed into slippers, and they proceeded toward their intended destination with the anticipation of meeting her future in-laws.
As they approached the entrance, she observed candles adorning the pathway and commended Adekunle Gold’s family for their thoughtful decor, entirely unaware of the impending surprise proposal.
Upon entering the room, she encountered an array of balloons, candles, and flowers. Adekunle Gold then knelt before her to solicit her hand in marriage, and in her astonishment, she responded affirmatively with a “Yes.”
