Gianluigi Buffon, Italy’s World Cup-winning goalkeeper, has married Ilaria D’Amico, his companion of nearly ten years, in a sumptuous Italian wedding.
The couple married on Saturday in Versilia, Tuscany, in front of 250 guests that included Buffon’s former teammates Giorgio Chiellini, Luciano Spalletti, and Leonardo Bonucci.
Hollywood director Tim Burton and actress Monica Bellucci, who acted as Ilaria’s witnesses, brought glamor to the event.
Buffon, 46, proposed to D’Amico in 2017 but delayed the wedding until his retirement from football in August 2023.
Ilaria stunned in a Luisa Beccaria lace dress, and Buffon shared the special moment with his 11 million Instagram followers.
The couple’s post-football life together has officially begun, marking a new chapter for the ten-time Serie A champion.
