Referee Fabio Maresca has been relieved of his duties in the Champions League following accusations of threatening to harm a player during a match between Kuwait SC and Al-Arabi.
The incident occurred when Maresca clashed with Khaled Al Murshed after a collision, with Maresca reportedly telling the player he would “kill” him.
As a result, Maresca was replaced by Daniele Doveri for the upcoming fixtures, and may face a one-month ban from officiating Serie A matches.
