Nancy Isime and John Dumelo will star in the upcoming thriller Hijack ’93, released on Netflix on October 25.
The film’s trailer was released on Thursday, giving spectators a taste of the thrilling drama.
Hijack ’93 recounts the journey of four young guys intent to effect change by hijacking an airplane.
What’s their mission? To oppose their military-backed government and use the passengers on board as leverage for social change.
Producer Charles Okpaleke claimed the film is based on true events in Nigeria in 1993, calling it a watershed moment in the country’s history.
According to him, the project’s goal is to “preserve and share authentic African stories with a global audience.”
The film features an impressive ensemble cast, including Bob Manuel, Sharon Ooja, Jemima Osunde, and Efa Iwara, alongside Isime and Dumelo.
The project is a collaboration between Play Network Studios and Native Media.
