Omoyele Sowore, the 2023 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has accused the Nigerian Immigration Service of harassing him at an airport.
Sowore claimed Immigration was attempting to prevent him from leaving Nigeria because his name was on their watchlist.
He revealed this in a message uploaded on his X page, along with a video.
He wrote: “The Nigerian Immigration Service #nigimmigration continues to subject me to unwarranted harassment and abuse. Violating my rights repeatedly.
“Today, again, they stopped me on my way out of Nigeria, claiming I am placed on their WATCHLIST!”
In September, Sowore was arrested at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja, Lagos State.
He disclosed that upon his arrival, he was detained by the NIS and his international passport was confiscated.
