Zayn Malik postpones US tour

Zayn Malik has decided to postpone his upcoming US tour following the tragic death of his former One Direction bandmate, Liam Payne.

Taking to social media, the British singer shared that he will be pausing the American leg of his Stairway to the Sky tour.

“Given the heartbreaking loss experienced this week, I’ve made the decision to postpone the US leg of the Stairway to the Sky Tour,” Malik wrote. “Love you all and thank you for your understanding.”

Zayn Malik had only just announced the tour last month, which included five dates in the US and six in the UK.

The US tour dates, which were originally scheduled for October and November in San Francisco, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Washington DC, and New York, will now be rescheduled for January according to Malik.

Since leaving One Direction in 2015 during their Asian tour, Malik has kept a low profile. The band later disbanded in 2016.

Zayn Malik penned a personal tribute to Payne on Thursday, writing, “When it came to the music Liam, you were the most qualified in every sense.

Liam Payne tragically passed away on Wednesday after a fall from a third-floor hotel room balcony in Buenos Aires. He was 31 years old.
