Kcee fired back, telling Flavour, “BRO!!!!!! We are not on the same level. Pick your battles carefully.” He went on to challenge Flavour’s stance on Igbo music, asserting that Flavour was not the “custodian” of Igbo culture and didn’t own the genre.Afrobeats Superstar, Flavour Shares Stunning Pictures Online

Kcee also highlighted his focus on authenticity, adding, “Spend your energy on success, not diminishing mine.” This statement was a clear assertion of his pride in his work and a reminder to Flavour that the genre belongs to all Igbo artists, not just a few.

The back-and-forth captured the attention of fans and sparked debates over gatekeeping and authenticity within Nigeria’s music scene. Many are now curious about whether the dispute will affect future collaborations between the two artists or if it will remain a one-off altercation.
