Isaac Fayose, brother of former Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose, has stated that his photo with crossdresser Idris Okuneye, aka Bobrisky, did not ruin the social media personality’s reputation.
Mr Fayose revealed this in an Instagram video on Friday upon his arrival in London after social media users accused him of being responsible for Bobrisky’s arrest.
Fayose took a selfie with Bobrisky at Lagos’ Murtala Mohammed International Airport on Thursday night and posted it to Instagram. He stated that they were to board the same flight to London.
Early Friday, it was reported that EFCC authorities ordered the crossdresser to leave the plane. Kelechi Anyikude, a popular Arsenal FC supporter, was also aboard the plane.
Defending himself, Fayose said Bobrisky is a popular figure and can be easily spotted anywhere, adding that other people took pictures with the online personality.
“I’m not the one that cast Bobrisky. The security agents have their office there at the airport, they saw him. So saying Isaac is the one that cast him…no! Airport no be secret place airport na public place,” he said.
Fayose said Bobrisky’s arrest was a “clear case of abuse”.
“EFCC cleared the guy of money laundering charges 5/6 months ago and they even came to national assembly to tell Nigerians that he was innocent. Why all this harassment? This is very wrong,” he wrote in another post.
